The 1968 men's soccer team was led by Head Coach A. Huntley Parker, Jr. and posted a perfect regular season record of 11-0. The Golden Eagles earned the No. 1 ranking in New York State and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament to go along with a first-round bye.

Over the course of the season, the Golden Eagles outscored opponents 21-1 in SUNYAC Conference games. Five student-athletes earned All-Conference honors including Bob Ketchum, Roy Miller, Mike Greco, Ron Wheeler and TJ Williams. Williams also earned All New York State and First Team All-American honors. All-American was not divided into Divisions back then, meaning he was one of the top 11 men's soccer players at all levels of college soccer.

The NCAA Tournament bid was particularly noteworthy because men's soccer was not divided into divisions, as it is today. As a team, the Golden Eagles set or tied six SUNYAC Conference records. The 1968 Team was Coach Parker’s fifth unbeaten team in the regular season.

For his efforts, Coach Parker was named the 1968 Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association at the All-American Awards ceremony in New York City.
