Played three years of varsity soccer (1953-55), three years of varsity basketball player (1953-56), and two years of varsity baseball (1954 and 1956) for the Golden Eagles; starred on the soccer pitch, earning first-team All-American and All-State status as a senior (1955) and leading Brockport to a share of the 1955 National Championship with Penn State (10-0-0 record); the team didn't lose a game his junior and senior years (19 straight wins); co-captain as a senior; also co-captained the basketball team as a senior and averaged in double figures in scoring as a junior and senior; highlighting his two seasons on the baseball team was a pinch-hit double to drive in the winning run in Brockport's first win over Cortland. Taught and coached in the Fillmore, Brighton, and Spencerport School Districts for all of his professional career; was a teacher for more than 33 years and coach for a total of 40 years. Instrumental in organizing the 40th Reunion of the 1955 National Championship team.
